Pacific is slated to build a new Student Center. Not so long ago many
people thought that a large student walk-in computer lab should be part
of such a building. Others suggested using laptop programs or simply
dorm wiring to forego the expense of staffing and replacement cycles.
At a minimum, I expect the new building to be painted with wireless and
have some hard-wired kiosks. In a residential school, with few public
labs, reasonable wireless access, fully wired residence halls and laptop
programs in only isolated schools, would you recommend a staffed lab?
Would you ask the students?
