We are a Banner school with over 250 PCs available to students through
multi-purpose computer labs. We have had some occurrences of students not
logging off of the network after using one of these machines and then
another student coming to that workstation and sending an inappropriate
email from this first student's account. I am looking for a way to reduce
this type of an occurrence without inconveniencing faculty and staff
machines logged onto the same network.
Does anyone had a similar issue and resolved it? If so, how? I have
thought about locking the workstation after an idle time out, but I do not
want to lock a lab workstation with a student's ID. I have thought about a
forced log out after an idle time out, but I do not want to force this on
Faculty/Staff and students within their dorm room.
Thank you for your help.
