We just compiled one based on several I saw out there. Grinnel has one that
we liked and used a lot of their text.

EDUCAUSE CIO Subject: [CIO] Policy Regarding Faculty Laptops
<[log in to unmask]
Please respond to
The EDUCAUSE CIO
We are providing our faculty with laptops this summer. This has been well
received by the faculty, but now some reality sets in with regard to the
portable nature of this tool. Do any of you have a policy that you would
be willing to share with regard to personal versus institutional liability
should the machine be stolen, lost, or damaged?
While I do not want to put a damper on the current level of enthusiasm for
this new tool, I do wish to clarify the liability issue as quickly as
possible, since these machines will soon be traveling to conferences and
taken on trips as the fall semester gets under way.
Thank you in advance for your collective wisdom.
