Anyone using the ZONELABS product to scan student-owned PCs connecting to your network? ZONELABS is a web server-based product that uses ActiveX to scan client PC for software products, patches, virus signature file dates, etc. which are configurable at the server. It appears if it find problems, it can given specific tailored instructions as to action person should take. It is reasonably priced.
This is from the company that makes the free ZONEALARM firewall product that is so popular, but I am referring to a complely different product. The ZONELAB product looks very useful as a way to check student PCs during NetReg login processes or for a student to check their own PC against university-defined rules. Iy suuplements anti-virus, not replaces it.
Contacts from anyone with experience with the product would be greatly appreciated!! If we decide to use it, I will post our experience.
