Steve Straub <[log in to unmask]> asked me to pass this clarification on increasing MAK activations to the list.
There was an email sent to the Licensing List that I wanted to address, however I am not a member, and thought you may be able to assist.
The email stated said that Your Microsoft Account Executive can increase your MAK Key activation limits for you if you ask and not to use the current process on the MVLS site unless you want to generate another key with similar activation limits. These are NOT trueŠ
First the process on the MVLS site will not generate a second MAK with the same limit, as this is not within the capabilities of our internal systems at this time. We are only able to issue a Single MAK per Enrollment, the online process can increase your MAK by 50%.
If you need more than that, you Account Executive is NOT able to increase your MAK limit. You need to call your regional licensing service call center that is listed on the MVLS site and request an increase. They will escalate the request via an internal process that will take a few days to approve. In order to complete this they would need the following information:
Agreement and/or license number:
Requestor Name, Phone, Email:
Product: Windows Vista Key (MAK) increase in activation limit
# of activations requested:
Reason for request:
Required date(standard SLA is 5 business days, though turnaround may be faster):
I can say that there have been some issues in our call centers, where operators have not been properly trained on how to escalate, however this should be resolved. If the above process does not work, than contact you account team and copy me with the above information and we will work to resolve the issue, however we can't directly or indirectly increase you MAK Activation count, we can just try to get the issues in the call centers escalated and resolved.
