We've done it on a test basis, but I don't think is done regularly.
Questions I would ask:
1. Physical Security - who has access to the data at the off-site location
2. Speed - How big are their pipes and can your network handle the load
3. Location - does the off-site location have adequate power, fire
and is sufficiently protected against a Katrina situation
4. Stability - if the company goes out of business, what happens to your

Subject: [CIO] Internet-based backups
Does anyone have any experience with internet-based backup solutions? We're
considering it, either as a replacement for, or a supplement to, our
existing tape backups. It's pretty expensive, but the ease of management
and increased security (writing to disc, multiple locations, etc) appeals to
me for our mission-critical data.
Any comments, positive or negative, would be appreciated.
