We try to limit our mail sizes for OUTBOUND only. We try to match the big
public mail systems like yahoo, gmail and hotmail. There isn't much sense
in allowing above that if it will be rejected anyway.
INBOUND is not restricted, nor are any communications within our domain

Subject: [CIO] Email Attachment Size Limits
I've done a bit of research, but I haven't found a statistic on the average
email attachment size limit.
At Vermont Law School, we reject emails from the outside with attachments
larger than 10MB.
I would like to know the following:
Does your institution have a size limits on attachments?
If you have a limit what is the limit?
If you respond off-list, I will tally the results and post them back to the
list. If there is a survey that addresses this issue, would someone please
point me in the right direction?
Best & Thank you,
Director of Technology
