I've been looking at replacing our faculty/staff email system for quite a while now. We have a propriatary non-standards based one now and due to that there are features not normally associated with your typical SMTP/MTA/IMAP sort of system. I'd like to add a lot of storage (we're at 50MB now), and I'd like to have something that will allow for PKI-lite, PGP, calendaring tie in, proxy access etc.
So far, I like Zimbra and am looking at others, but I'm not sure we have the in house support talent to take advantage of all it can offer, although yet another reorg might help :-)
So, I'm seeking comments on any in house systems that you might be using, any stories of outsourcing (and how you deal with open records and all that fun stuff), and if you have an RFP I could look at.
