Cisco has a solution that we are considering. We currently use firesign for our digital sign control. We had a temporary setup that ran wireless. Worked well.

Subject: [CIO] Wireless Display Systems (or Wired Displays)
Has anyone implemented wireless displays on their campus?
I have two reasons for not wanting to install a wired solution:
1. We have a wireless network that covers the entire campus and surrounding businesses.
2. I don’t like running cable.
The purpose of these wireless displays would also be two-fold:
1. Display event information to increase awareness and participation in campus activities.
2. Display Instant Crisis/Emergency Information in the event that people do not or cannot check their email/cell phone/voicemail.
So, has anyone installed wireless displays on their campuses, and if so, would you be willing to share your findings/decisions/budgets?
(If you’ve installed a wired display system and would like to share it….I guess I could be convinced to forget my 2nd objection from above).
(on or off list replies are welcome).
