We have limited staffing and constraints on our current email services to support some of the activities desired by both our public relations and development divisions. One of the efforts that these offices desired was to provide monthly or occasional e-newletters to their constituents. We worked with both to provide appropriate guidance with security and setups and with the Constant Contact technical staff to provide backend processes. We have been using this bulk email service for about 6 months and have seen a marked increase in appreciation for their service, clients ability to opt-out (ours would have been highly manual process), and a rather innocuous method of making connections in a simple and effortless way. We use their resources (Constant Contact) and reduce some of our need to develop similar services in house. It works for us with little or no problems and we have had no qualms about providing them with the mailing lists for this purpose. Their agreement has protections built in so we treat them as another valued member of the staff doing an important job for us.

Subject: [CIO] Constant Contact
I've had a request to provide employee email addresses for one of our departments to use with Constant Contact.
I'm not too keen on this idea, but wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience with this service. Based on my limited research, the vendor seems to be fairly reputable.
Thanks for your feedback.
