Will another site pop-up and carry on the torch? Sometimes I wonder
whether it is the changing times. We (old fogies) are having a harder
time with uncontrolled information dissemination. Then again, I don't
like rumors and gossip that you cannot respond to.
Is it better to have all uncontrolled the rumors in one place or in many
places? If you have it all in one place, more people see it. But you can
also better respond to them. While having rumors and gossip in many
locations is less effective for the gossiper but we have a harder time

Subject: [CIO] juicycampus.com shuts down
Last year, many of us spent way too much time dealing with the issue
of the web site www.juicycampus.com and it's impact on our campus.
Today, the web site announced that it was shutting down.
I do think, ultimately, that the site raised impact issues of privacy,
slander, free speech, anonymity, and service provider responsibilities
in the web 2.0 world - these issues do not go away with the site.'
