We are using Sun's Identity Manager and have Banner as primary source.
We developed our own database schema to allow us to form and simplify
our data prior to pushing it into our IDM. This insulates our Banner
databases from our IDM. We use the Database Table resource objects and
map them largely against tables that hold groups of identities sorted by
differing types of affiliation. We feed this into LDAP, and the IDM
syncs against both LDAP and the database. We have a few other resources
that we provision to along the way. So far Sun's product has met our
needs and is easy enough to extend upon or customize as needed.
