as of January 20th or so, 2009, the federal e-authentication effort
was "sunset-ed". Apparently, it no longer exists. The "US federal
federation" seems to have gone out of business at the same time.
On the bright news side, US Federal agencies are now joining InCommon
directly. NIH and NSF are both now members. And discussions are
underway with the federal government to develop a process that would
make this step easier for other federal agencies.
