The University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee facilitates the Sloan-C Workshop on blended learning. We also have a web repository with resources for faculty development at http://hybrid.uwm.edu.

I am chairing the Sloan-C Blended conference in April, here in Milwaukee. We would love to see new faces. The RFP has been extended as of today, so please submit to:
http://sloanconsortium.org/blended.

Please let me know if we can help in any way.

Thanks,
Tanya

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to thank everyone that stopped by the poster sessions and/or
participated in our early Thursday morning discussion. A large number of
individuals expressed interest in Blended or Hybrid learning. I want to
encourage participants to ask questions, share concerns and success
stories, as well as not so successful stories. One thing I would
recommend are the workshops offered by Sloan-C:
http://sloanconsortium.org/2011workshops They even offer a Blended
Teaching Certificate program.

For those of you new to the group, you can find a large number of
resources on our groups web page: http://www.educause.edu/cg/blend-online.
Be sure to click through the links to see the wealth of resources
available. Please do let us know of any additional resources you feel
belong here.

Good afternoon everyone. I forwarded this same email to the Sloan-C listser=

th receiving those emails for some reason).

I learned of the DOE's Dear Colleague letter<http://ifap.ed.gov/dpcletters/=
GEN1117.html> on Friday morning regarding the increasing problem of federal=
financial aid fraud and online programs. I have checked a few sites lookin=
g for practices people are using to address this issue but can't find anyth=
ing substantial yet.

Does anyone have an effective practice they can recommend? Our enrollment m=
anagement team is meeting this week to discuss and I'd like to have some id=
eas to present.

Thanks so much.
Kristen

Yes!
Thanks, Ellen, for heading up the Educuase 2011 meetings! I also wanted to
mention that among the various Blend-Online resources is the wiki:
http://www.educause.edu/wiki/Blend-Online - anyone with a free account on
educause.edu can log in and edit the wiki to add more resources and/or pages
to the wiki. (If someone has notes from the session and can add them to the
page for this year's
meeting<http://www.educause.edu/wiki/Blend-Online+2011+Educuase+Annual+Conference+Meeting+-+Philadelphia>(which
desperately needs to be updated, please do!)

While we're on the "blended" topic - I wonder if there are institutions
represented out there who have blended initiatives where the definition of
blended does NOT include reduction of seat time? I'd be interested to hear
about the various definitions and models being used by your institutions.

Maybe this could be the first topic for the Blend-Online monthly webinar?

Best regards,

I learned of the DOE?s Dear Colleague letter on Friday morning regarding=20
the increasing problem of federal financial aid fraud and online programs. =

I have checked a few sites looking for practices people are using to=20
address this issue but can?t find anything substantial yet.
=20
Does anyone have an effective practice they can recommend? Our enrollment=20
management team is meeting this week to discuss and I?d like to have some=20
ideas to present.
=20
Thanks so much.

Hi Ellen.
That actually makes me feel better since you are always on top of things. I=
know I'm not behind the 8 ball on this.

I've sprayed a few emails out to other friends and colleagues, too, so I'll=
 share whatever I hear.

Thanks for writing.
Kristen
