Subject: [CIO] Content strategy/Information architecture vendors
Greetings all (apologies to cross list receivers!)
We are preparing to send out an RFP for a large web redesign project. And we are looking for vendors with particularly strong skills in discovery, content strategy and information architecture, with a focus on user experience. We would like the vendor to build the site on Yale’s Drupal platform, so Drupal experience is a must. We'd love to hear about your experience with vendors, both good and bad, to help us select some vendors to include in the RFP. Happy to collate responses and feed back to the list.
Background: The project will look at the web presence for all of Yale's administrative sites, from HR to Procurement to Student Loans. These sites are currently spread out over multiple URLs and content management systems, with many sites still on static servers. Yale plans to engage in a full web revamp process. We will create a web presence that captures services and information for Yale’s administrative clients, and streamlines content in a way that provides users with information regardless of the organization structure. The goal is to better target our content to the user’s needs. In addition to focussing on the needs of visitors to the site, we are planning for an administrative interface with workflow and permissions that support the wide variety of staff across Yale who will be supporting and adding content to the site.
