At Purdue University the customer of the digital signage service is responsible for all the hardware and installation costs, including electrical and network wiring. In addition there are yearly digital signage service fees that each customer area pays. This fee covers the vendor software maintenance and 15% salary for the campus administrator.

As far as determining where digital signage is placed all requests for new displays must be approved by the Office of the VP of IT, normally a site review is conducted. Digital signage is limited to one flat-panel monitor per department and one per building floor unless the need for additional monitors is approved. No two digital signs or monitors are to be placed within 100 feet of each other.

Subject: [DIGITALSIGNAGE] DS Charges

Hello all,

I'm wondering how everyone goes about covering the costs of new digital signage nodes. Here at Stevens, when we get a new request from a sponsor we usually charge the sponsors account for everything except the software support. These charges include: TV, Mount, small form computer (NUC), security lock, 22 miles player software license, network connection, quad electrical outlet, monitor installation. These costs usually amount to about $2.5K, does IT cover these costs at your institutions or do the individual departments that request the signage get charged?

Thanks!
Jesse
