We are just at the front of this process and haven't yet acquired enough experience to really talk to it. But I wanted to mention that this can have a dramatic impact on disaster recovery capabilities, and when looking at the overall cost you should factor in your DR needs and be ready to use that in your justifications.

Subject: [CIO] Migrating to Microsoft Azure
We are a relatively small school, with an entirely Microsoft-based server environment, and are running a project this summer to assess the feasibility of moving to Microsoft Azure. I was wondering whether any of you have already gone down this path and whether you or someone on your team might be open to a phone conversation to discuss your experience.
If you are, please let me know off-line.
If you are considering this, but are not actively pursuing it, I would be willing to pay it forward by discussing our experience/conclusions with you sometime in the fall.
