Jack-
We did this migration a few years back and have been very happy with it. We did have to bring in some help to assist with this process. We used Presidio an NY based IT consulting firm and I would be happy to put you InTouch with our reps.
Kind Regards,

Subject: [ITSUPPORTSERVICES] Office 365 Migration for Email and Office Apps
We are looking into moving our e-mail system over to Office 365. We are in talks with Microsoft to see if the O365 environment will work based on how our current email environment is setup including our custom rules.
We are running a hybrid environment - MS Exchange plus Sendmail (POP/IMAP and our edge server) with ProofPoint.
We are looking at the free academic option - https://products.office.com/en-us/academic/compare-office-365-education-plans
Has anyone migrated to O365? How did the migration process go? Feedback from users? Did you go full cloud or hybrid and why?
What about Office for your users? Are you providing it if so, is it the cloud - web only - or both desktop installed client? You using O365 for Office subscription? The free O365 for Education doesn’t seem to offer a full installed office package - just online only. Was this an issue for your users if you went this route?
Thank you,
-jack
